WHAT IS YOGA & YIN YOGA?
Yoga is an ancient practice that brings together mind and body. It incorporates breathing exercises, meditation and poses designed to encourage relaxation and reduce stress.
One of the reasons I love yoga so much when working with women in midlife is that it is often the only time when they give themselves permission to fully relax and be present.
Perimenopause is tough and can bring many unpleasant symptoms such as anxiety, insomnia, low mood, anger, a loss of self esteem and physical symptoms such as night sweats and hot flushes.
Research has shown many times that yoga can be extremely beneficial to these women and many report seeing a reduction in severity of their symptoms when they do a regular yoga practice.
Most forms of yoga, including my Yoga Glow classes, focus on building strength and increasing flexibility, whereas Yoga Slow & Yoga Yin centre on stretching deeper connective tissues such as ligaments, tendons and deep fascia.
Yoga serves as the perfect antidote to often busy and stress-filled life and benefits you can expect are:
