It is estimated that there are currently approximately 13 million women in the UK who are perimenopausal or postmenopausal.  That equates to around one third of the entire female population. Whilst a small of number of these women will experience very mild symptoms, the vast majority will live with some severely debilitating symptoms, that can last up to 15 years. 
Yet, this is a tragically underserved demographic when it comes to knowledge.  These workshops aim to redress that balance and my mission is for you to leave them feeling empowered, armed with knowledge and positive for the future.

I want to reach as many people as possible and I understand that sometimes finances mean that you may not be able to invest in the 1-1 workshop.  If that is you then maybe this workshop is the one for you. According to a survey from Nuffield Health, who questioned 3275 women aged between 40 and 65, the following sobering facts about how menopause affects women in the workplace were discovered:
  • A massive 72% of female workers suffering symptoms said they feel unsupported at work
  • 1 in 5 say their symptoms have a detrimental effect on their work
  • 9 out of 10 women say they feel unable to talk to managers at work
  • 1 in 5 women take time off to deal with their symptoms
  • 1 in 10 women said they have even considered quitting their job
The average age globally for a woman to experience menopause is 51.  Women over the age of 50 are the fastest growing group in the workforce and as more women go through the menopause during their working lives, it’s vital that employers encourage open discussions to ensure they get the right support.  
 
Every woman will experience her own unique set of symptoms that can last up to 10-15 years prior to menopause.  This is called Perimenopause.​  Perimenopause symptoms often appear from our early 40s, although it can be earlier for some women. Every woman in perimenopause will have her own unique journey and her own individual set of symptoms.  These symptoms can experience are vast and wide-ranging, but some of the more common ones include:
  • Anxiety
  • Brain Fog
  • Depression
  • Difficulty Concentrating
  • Fatigue
  • Hot Flushes
  • Irregular Periods
  • Joint Pain
  • Mood Swings
